AH Editing - Postgraduate Theses & Dissertations

Postgraduate Theses and Dissertations

Whether it's to secure your final qualification before entry into the job market, or you're a part-time student whose postgraduate degree will help with a promotion, or it's another step in your academic career, your thesis or dissertation is critically important. It's the culmination of years of work and effort.

Having edited academic documents for almost 20 years and with a large team of specialised editors, we're ideally placed to ensure that your assessment panel can focus on the merits of your research and not the language.

We'll focus on improving your work in a number of areas:

  • Grammar
  • Punctuation
  • Style
  • Spelling
  • Standardisation of terms
  • Clarity
  • Fluency

Our service includes two passes (reading through and making corrections) by a first editor, after which the document goes to a senior editor for a final check.

If your document is under 30,000 words you can refer to our approximate price calculator for pricing and speed of return. How quickly we can return longer documents is determined on a case-by-case basis, according to word count, how much work is required and our current workload.
We quote based on word count and the level of editing required, calculating the total number of hours to complete the project. We then factor in a discount based on the word count and whether you are a full-time or part-time student. Check our pricing page for discount details.

Quality Assurance

We value the trust that our clients place in us and ensure the quality of our editing service in a number of ways.

  • Selective Recruitment

We select only a very small percentage of applicants to work with us, most holding postgraduate qualifications from leading research universities. All applicants must attempt our online assessment, with our Chief Editor, Dr Mike Poole, making the final call on who makes the grade.

  • Ongoing Training and Development

Dr Poole is ultimately responsible for maintaining quality, and conducts feedback sessions with all new editors until he is happy with the level of their editing work. From then on our editors benefit from periodical feedback sessions and from joining team webinars.

  • A Two-Stage Editing Process

All documents are edited at least twice by a first editor. Following that they go on to a senior editor who ensures publication quality before they are released to the client.

Our Guarantee

If you don't alter a thesis/dissertation that we've edited and it's rejected by your assessment panel on purely English language grounds, we will offer to re-edit it free of charge. In support of your claim we will need a note from your supervisor stating the specific reasons for rejection, your supervisor's contact details and a copy of the document as you submitted it. For the document to be re-edited free of charge the rejection must be based wholly on problems with English usage, and not in part or in whole because of problems with the content, style or inappropriate or incorrect terminology.

We treat confidentiality very seriously and in our long history have never disclosed any client information. We can supply a confidentiality agreement if requested and are happy to sign your own documentation to provide peace of mind.
